What are SC's meditation
concerts? Journeys in sound, silence and awareness, taking along mind, body and spirit. We carefully support a friendly, easy-going travelling athmosphere - loving company is the secret of any journey worth making. The concerts are open processes, using sound and music as elements in a vehicle to travel to the altered states of consciousness - the wide spaces right outside the wellknown territories of ordinary day consciousness. The music is often soft and intensely dwelling, inviting the audience to sit or lie and "meditate along". At other times it may turn energetic and rhytmic and inspire to dance to or in it. Some of the time during the concert there may even be complete silence, or we may use a simple, guided meditative exercise to open awareness further. We always start out with a simple exercise of warm awareness. The forms of the music-vehicle - soundscapes, rhythms, voices with or without words - organically reconstruct themselves as we go along, to fit with new territories. The concerts are usually recorded, and much of the music we have published was born as concert recordings and later polished in the sound studio. The concerts give us a warm wakefulness in the music, impossible to create elsewhere. The audience plays us. So, on our website and CDs you will find music you have played yourself - with us as instruments. If you have never meditated before, this event will work well as an introduction.
